Katyayani Katal - Selective Systemic Herbicide for Broadleaf Weed Control
Katyayani Katal (2,4-D Dimethyl Amine Salt 58% SL) is a selective, systemic post-emergence herbicide designed to control a wide range of broadleaf weeds in various crops. It is effective against both annual and perennial broadleaf weeds, as well as Cyperus species, in crops like maize, wheat, sorghum, potato, sugarcane, and non-crop areas.
Target Weeds:
Katyayani Katal controls a variety of broadleaf weeds such as Trianthema monogyna, Amaranthus spp., Boerhaavia diffusa, Euphorbia hirta, Cyperus spp., Chenopodium album, and others.
Target Crops:
This herbicide is suitable for use on crops like maize, wheat, sorghum, potato, sugarcane, and for managing aquatic weeds and non-crop areas.
Mode of Action:
Katyayani Katal works by mimicking the plant growth hormone auxin. It is absorbed by the leaves and roots of the weeds, disrupting their normal growth process. This causes abnormal growth, cell elongation, and ultimately the death of the weed. It is effective on both annual and perennial broadleaf weeds, as well as Cyperus species.
Compatibility:
Katyayani Katal is compatible with most commonly used agricultural chemicals, except for fungicides and insecticides.
Dosage Recommendations:
- Maize: 344 ml/acre
- Wheat: 344-516 ml/acre
- Sorghum: 1240 ml/acre
- Potato: 1376 ml/acre
- Sugarcane: 2520 ml/acre
- Aquatic Weeds and Non-Crop Areas: 344-688 ml/acre
Application Method:
Spray the herbicide 15–30 days after sowing, when weeds are at the 2-3 leaf stage, using a flood jet or flat fan nozzle.
Important Notes:
- For best results, apply when weeds are actively growing.
- Ensure uniform spray coverage for effective weed control.
